Derelict

The station is never the same twice

A first-person VR roguelike for standalone Meta Quest. Dock at an abandoned station, clear a deck that was built the moment you stepped into it, and take the portal home before it takes you.

  • Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S
  • Single player
  • Roomscale & seated

The run

You start on the station hub, where the counters are. Spend what you brought back last time, pick a deck and walk through its door. Rooms, corridors and plasma pools are generated from a seed and checked for a walkable route before you ever see them. Somewhere in there is a boss; put it down and the portal home opens. Die instead, and you keep only part of what you were carrying.

What is in it

Three decks, rebuilt every run

Deck 1 is open from the start; the furnace and the greenhouse are bought on the station. Each is larger and busier than the last, and each is laid out again from a seed on every descent.

Guns, not swordplay

Four ranged weapons — a pulse pistol you start with, a heavy revolver, an assault rifle and a burst-fire stutterer — reloaded with a flick of the wrist or a button, whichever your hands prefer.

Machines that tell you first

Every enemy glows and winds up before it strikes, and every shot that reaches you is drawn from the direction it came from. Nothing hits you out of silence.

Progress that carries over

Coins buy weapons, upgrades at the bench and the next deck. Artifacts found on a run give temporary boosts for that run only.

Difficulty that means something

On higher difficulty the machines are tougher, hit harder, notice you sooner and there are more of them on the deck. On lower difficulty, fewer and gentler.

Comfort you control

Snap or smooth turning, adjustable vignette, dominant hand, seated mode and a height that fits you. The camera is yours: nothing in the game moves your view for you — not damage, not death, not a cutscene.

Status

Derelict is in development and is not on the Meta Horizon Store yet. This page exists so the privacy policy and support contact have a public home; it will point at the store listing once there is one.
